In March, Konstantin Bojinov, Manager of the Bulgarian Carbon Capture project ANRAV was invited to the European Commission’s flagship event on research and innovation – Research and Innovation Week 2024 in Brussels, Belgium.
In the panel Enhancing R&I Excellence to Bridge the Innovation Divide, the cases of Bulgaria and Romania were examined as leading examples of synergy between energy and transport in the region.
The Project Manager of ANRAV used the opportunity to share learnings and good examples of the CCUS project during the first year of its implementation. ANRAV, with secured funding from the EU Innovation Fund 2022, is an important project for Europe with a focus on capturing and storage of CO2 in Eastern Europe. It offers a sustainable solution toward reducing the carbon footprint of energy-intensive industries. The ANRAV Project was exclusively featured as a good practice in the Leading by Example panel dedicated to Success Stories in the creation of synergies between energy and transport.
Together with the former Minister of Innovation & Growth of Bulgaria, Milena Stoycheva, the Head of Project ANRAV met with other EU Project Coordinators and Leaders of successful projects aimed towards a Greener Europe.
The event proved to be a perfect venue to discuss the future of R&I, shape the contribution to EU political priorities, and commemorate past and current achievements. The Research and Innovation Week is a series of events organised by the European Commission and the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
